Lars Krutak - The Tattoo Hunter

United States

Lars Krutak - The Tattoo Hunter From the USA • The Tattoo Hunter! Lars Krutak is one of the most important researchers of tattoo culture worldwide. An anthropologist specializing in traditional tattoos, he has dedicated his career to documenting tribal practices around the world. Known to the general public through the series “Tattoo Hunter” (Discovery Channel), Lars has explored communities in Africa, Asia, Oceania and South America, where tattoos are not just art, but part of identity, ritual and faith. For him, tattoos are a visual language of the skin, which conveys who we are, where we come from and what symbols define us. Through his research and documentation work, he has contributed to bringing authentic traditions and emblematic figures of traditional tattooing, such as Apo Whang-od, to the attention of the international public. He is the author of important works on tribal tattoos and has collaborated with institutions such as National Geographic and the Smithsonian. At the INKORA Tattoo Art & Music Festival, Lars Krutak's presence brings a rare dimension: the direct connection between modern tattooing and its cultural origins.
